Lake Conjola is certainly on our list to return visit………….maybe in Autumn when the winds are lighter. It is a little known gem of the South Coast, but a sensational destination on a lovely peninsular.
Then on to Huskisson for a week at the “White Sands CP”. It continues to get better!!! Huskisson is a popular and beautifully situated village on a peninsular that boasts Hyams Beach, now officially the whitest sand beach in the WORLD, overtaking Esperance in WA in the last survey. And further on to Booderee NP for a day of highlights……….the white sand, the turquoise water, the stunning scenery, the “to die for camping spots”, ………….a day in heaven….,except for the wind!
In the CP, we sit high on a headland overlooking Jervis Bay, it was 32C today, and the turquoise water is crystal clear and not too cold. We went on a longish tour today but included bush walks to remote headlands that saw 198 shipwrecks in 10 years back in the 1870’s, to tiny hamlets with the rich living in mansions on exotic canals, to a fishing boat returning to shore with dolphins basking in the bow wave, to Greenhill Point for fresh oysters and prawns, to Nowra Fresh for fresh barra, salmon, grain fed steak, and free range chicken to add to the pantry. This is really good.
Still sorry I can’t post photos on this tour. Will make up on our return
Don’t be in too much of a hurry to get back Barry, it’s still winter down here – and the seafood not quite as fresh!
