Bienvenuti Milano
Currently in Torre Del Lago, the home of Giacomo Puccini, and will be travelling down to Viterbo tomorrow.
Milan was fairly quiet as most Italians take their holidays in August and desert the city.
Pictures are of the Duomo Santa Maria Nacente -the gothic cathedral of Milan which took nearly six centuries to complete, started in 1386 and finished in 1985. It’s the fifth largest cathedral in the world and the largest in Italy. It’s 173.5 meters high and built of brick and Cadiglian marble – not the most elegant structure but impressive!
Hi Nick and Linda.
Great pics. We went to Italy many years ago, and enjoyed their architecture and the pure history of the place. We seem to knock things down instead of preserving them.
